Hadyn Jack’s graduate project “Sixth Sense” made the cut to be one of the student finalists for the 2016 Best Awards. Sixth Sense is an appcessory that helps the parents of type 1 diabetics monitor their children’s blood sugar levels during sleep
Sixth Sense is inspired by the ability of medical alert dogs to sniff out potentially fatal changes in blood sugar levels, serving as an affordable alternative for achieving peace of mind.
The product is accompanied by a smart phone app with clear, colour-coded interfaces that not only inform parents of their child’s status, but also provide them with simple prompts to support effective blood sugar management, particularly under stress.
We commend Hadyn on designing a product that thoughtfully addresses a real world problem and wish him all the best in the final rounds of judging
