Children’s products have emerged as a major trend at this year’s Milan Design week. Where typically children’s products have been robust, colourful, and ultimately tacky, designers are exploring new approaches to design for children. Objects like Stockholm Studio Front’s “Furia Rocking Horse” and Philippe Starke’s “Airway Swing” are designed to appeal to parents as well, fitting into the home like any other piece of furniture.
In keeping with this trend, our very own AUT graduate, Nicole Marshall, is exhibiting her graduate project as part of Milan Design Week. Nicole’s project, titled “Grasshopper,” is an educational appcessory designed to engage children in active play. Click here to follow Nicole’s work and experiences at Milan Design Week.
