If you’ve been keeping up with the blog, you may remember a few weeks ago we featured a post about Xero Accounting product designer Andy Hovey and his presentation at the 2015 Better By Design CEO Summit. AUT Industrial Design and Innovation is lucky enough to have Andy Hovey and Xero onboard as a collaborator in the third year’s X3 project with a focus on experience design and design thinking.
Founded in 2006, Xero went from New Zealand startup to a global company with sites in the UK, US, and Australia as well as New Zealand. Their smart and user friendly approach to accounting software is a major source of their success, turning accounting from a dull necessity to an experience that has even been called fun.
The third year students have been asked to “create a better digital experience for Xero payroll users, focussing on the relationship between employers and employees.”
