Interesting: Startup launches first 3D-printed battery-powered rocket

A startup called Rocket Lab has recently produced a rocket engine composed primarily of 3D parts that replaces liquid fuel with batteries. The design of the engine is simplified by the use of electricity, removing the need for the tubes and pumps associated with liquid fuels. The so called “Rutherford” engine is made of titanium and other alloys and takes just 3 days to print by “electron beam melting”.
