There was plenty of great work that came out of the department in 2013 – but it doesn’t stop there! There are some great opportunities to have your work recognised through both New Zealand based and global design competitions, so get stuck in and start entering your work.
The 2014 Core77 Awards have arrived and are an awesome opportunity to expose your world though a well regarded and highly trafficked design blog:
‘Recognizing excellence in all areas of design enterprise, the Core77 Design Awards celebrates the richness of the design profession and its practitioners. We present 17 categories of entry, providing designers, researchers and writers a unique opportunity to communicate the intent, rigor and passion behind their efforts. From client work to self-initiated projects, entrepreneurial to pro-bono engagements, we embrace a wide diversity of enterprise: commercial, cultural, social, environmental and discursive.
Both the Professional and Student Winners of each category will receive the C77DA trophy, and all Honorees will be published in the Awards Gallery, across the Core77 online network. Be part of the most inclusive and celebrated design awards platform of the digital age.’
For students the early bird fee is only $40, and if you win, the trophy is very cool! The hardware itself is a mould that can be cast into – a very nice reference to the manufacturing component of product design. So if you have a group project – everyone gets a trophy!
